Butterworth
Center, Moline, IL - Butterworth
Center was built in 1892 by Charles Deere (son of John
Deere) as a wedding gift for his youngest daughter,
Katherine, and her husband William Butterworth.
This gracious and historic manor now serves as a civic
center for the city of Moline. The pipe organ was
installed in 1909 and updated in the 1930's. It was
equipped with a roll-player and is one of the largest
residence organs in the Midwest. Levsen Organ Company
will be rebuilding and renewing the 3 manual, 26 rank
organ for installation this fall.

BUTTERWORTH
CENTER UPDATE:
The Butterworth Organ is currently in the final phases of
troubleshooting on our floor; and it is scheduled to be
delivered shortly.
The Artiste Player is one of the unique features of the
Butterworth Organ and is now fully functional. Music
can be played on the Artiste Player and recorded to the
Digital Operating System's automatic player - a feature that
could be used while entertaining or while conducting one of
the many tours that pass through the Butterworth
Mansion. The refurbished Deagan Harp is another
fascinating feature of the Butterworth Organ; and is
operable from both the keyboard and the Artiste Player.
